LETRAN and La Salle Greenhills lock horns in the Finals as the National Collegiate Athletic Association-sponsored 15-Under Tournament comes to a close on Sunday at the Letran gym.
La Salle seeks to complete a tournament sweep as it remained unbeaten throughout the eliminations, capping off with a drubbing of San Sebastian College, 83–67, in the semifinals.
Letran, on the other hand, armed with a twice-to-beat advantage after finishing the eliminations second to La Salle, had to survive a pesky San Beda squad in the semifinals – losing the first game, 44–49, before finally winning the second, 62–58 – to claim the other championship berth.
The title match is set at 10 a.m.
The other NCAA teams which saw action in the event headed by chairman, Fr. Victor Calvo of Letran, and Commissioner Elmer Latonio are Arellano University, Emilio Aguinaldo College, and the University of Perpetual Help.
The tournament allows the grassroots programs of member schools to develop and prepare the young cagers for future stints in the juniors and seniors levels.
