JIO Jalalon delivered in the clutch and wound up with 33 points, leading Arellano to a 78-75 win over Lyceum on Tuesday in the NCAA Season 92 seniors basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Jalalon came through down the stretch with crucial baskets as the Chiefs downed the pesky Pirates for an 11-3 record.

Arellano gained the lead after San Beda bowed to Jose Rizal University.

Jalalon had 15 points in the fourth quarter to prevent Arellano from a meltdown after leading by as many as 17.

“We really needed that. Very precise and accurate ’yung decision-making niya,” said Arellano coach Jerry Codinera.

Arellano had to earn its 11th victory of the season, the Chiefs trailing by 12 points before Jalalon took over.

“Kahit sa start, it wasn’t easy kasi marami rin silang big guards na talagang nagmamatch-up sa amin providing quality minutes against Jiovani. Buti ‘yung main guys namin, nakatulong sa depensa.”
