THE NCAA has suspended three Letran players and one from San Beda for their involvement in a late-game commotion in the NCAA.
Letran's Jerick Balanza, Christian de la Pena, and Marco Sario, and San Beda's Jun Bonsubre were suspended after a review of the incident.
De la Pena, Sario, and Bonsubre were suspended for leaving the bench during the commotion that began when Balanza elbowed San Beda's Jomari Presbitero.
Balanza’s unsportsmanlike foul was upgraded to a disqualifying foul that merited an automatic one-game suspension.
League commissioner Andy Jao made the recommendation which was upheld by the NCAA Management Committee.
The three Letran players will miss the match against College of Saint Benilde, while Bonsubre will not see action against Mapua on Thursday.
