Ian Alban is proving to be the next Tondo product who could make it big in basketball, and he put his skills on full display on Thursday in front of the 'Angas ng Tondo' himself, Paul Lee.
The 21-year-old Alban turned heads as the 5-foot-10 Lyceum Pirates guard scored a personal season-high 21 points in their 75-58 win over College of Saint Benilde, as witnessed by Rain or Shine star Lee, who he invited to watch the game.
“Tinext ko si Kuya Paul Lee na manood siya. Kailangan hindi masayang ‘yung pagpunta niya dito,” said Alban.

The Lyceum guard said Lee is one of his inspirations and he shared that the former Gilas guard even guides and motivates him ever since he transferred from Our Lady of Fatima University to the Pirates.
And after taking a year on the sidelines to comply with residency requirements, Lee's pointers have obviously been paying off for Alban.
“Siya rin ‘yung isa sa mga nag-momotivate sa akin, bukod kila coach Topex [Robinson],” he said. “Sabi niya, hardwork lang at i-represent namin ‘yung Tondo.”
