EMILIO Aguinaldo College surpassed its win total from last season after beating College of Saint Benilde, 76-56, on Thursday in the NCAA Season 92 seniors basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

The Generals ended the first round on a high note, winning three of nine games to improve on their two-win performance in Season 91.

The Blazers are winless in nine games.

“At least, we surpassed our standing last year. Hopefully, this break will give us a chance to improve,” said EAC coach Ariel Sison.

Sidney Onwubere had 16 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and two blocks, while Hamadou Laminou had 14 points but his interior defense was the key as he came up with five blocks for the Generals.

EAC bounced back from a dismal outing against Perpetual Help when it shot 22.5 percent from the field on Tuesday. The Generals hit 43 percent against the Blazers, going 26-of-60 from the field.
