GRACE Irebu captured the Most Valuable Player award in the UAAP Season 81 women's basketball tournament to become the first UST Tigress to win the plum in 10 years.

The Congolese center amassed 80.57 statistical points built on 18.5 points, 13.8 rebounds and 2.7 blocks to help UST force a fourth-place playoff against La Salle.

Irebu followed the footsteps of Marichu Bacaro, who won the award in 2008, and became the first non-NU Lady Bulldog to win the trophy since FEU's Camille Sambile in 2013.

Close behind Irebu for the top individual award was Season 80 MVP Jack Animam of NU who collected 79.71 SPs.

Completing this year's Mythical Team are UST's Sai Larosa, who collected 76.07 SPs, Adamson's Mar Prado, who got 74.28 SPs, and FEU's Clare Castro, who got 71.35 SPs.

Tigress Tantoy Ferrer, meanwhile, came away with the Rookie of the Year award with 48.92 SPs.
