IT looks like the ankle injury isn’t going to keep Scottie Thompson sidelined for long as he declared his intention to play for Perpetual Help in its next game against Jose Rizal University.
The reigning MVP landed awkwardly at the 6:31 mark of the fourth quarter in the Altas’ 68-55 win over the Generals on Tuesday.
The Altas are confident the injury isn’t serious but to rule out any major damage to the ankle, Thompson will undergo an X-ray evaluation.
“Siguro inabot lang talaga ng disgrasya. Pero okay lang. Kaya ’to, next game,” said Thompson.
Perpetual Help coach Aric Del Rosario also believes Thompson will be able to play in the next game.
“Next week pa naman ‘yung next game namin kaya may panahon pa para magpagaling,” said Del Rosario.
Thompson admitted the pain is still unbearable. When asked from scale of 1 to 10 the pain level, Thompson said: “Siguro 8.”
“May tumulak sa akin kaya na-out of balance ako,” said Thompson, who recently applied for the PBA draft.
“Papa-X-ray ko pa doon. Sa ngayon, hindi ko pa masabi kasi masakit. Hindi ko alam kung saan galling ’yung sakit. Gumagapang sa taas,” Thompson added.
