COACH Aris Dimaunahan was pleased to see Tin Cayabyab cap off the tournament with an MVP performance after coming off the bench in the opening games of UAAP Season 85.
"We always thought that this game is about the process. It's a process, kasi siyempre, highly-touted si Tin from the high school ranks, and siyempre may pressure din sa kanya. So ang ginawa ko lang sa kaniya is, I just guided her," said Dimaunahan.
"Sa start nga, parang four games ng season natin, she wasn't even starting. So we made an adjustment of giving her the chance to start, and from then on, she blossomed."

Despite the slow start, the highly-touted prospect from Chiang Kai Shek College led the top-seeded squad in scoring during the eliminations with 12.8 points, which went along with 5.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists.
Her solid play translated all the way to the championship series, where she produced an average of 12.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 1.5 assists during their 2-0 sweep of La Salle.

In Game Two, Cayabyab scored 14 of her team-high 18 during the first half, where NU pulled away to secure its seventh straight title.
Seeing that his prized first-year player was lackadaisical at times on the defensive end, he tasked veteran Camille Clarin to guide Cayabyab.
"So, si Big Ate CC, we talked about her na before, CC wasn't even defending as well, but this year, she embraced the role and the challenge of being a two-way player," remarked Dimaunahan.
"And then from that point on, kasi sila din ang nagkakabantayan sa practice, siguro at some point, medyo nahihila nila ang isa't-isa to become better persons, to become better players," he continued.
"Unexpected din 'tong award na nakuha ko kasi wala talaga sa mindset ko 'yan. Ang gusto ko lang mangyari this season is ma-improve ko 'yung mga dapat kong ma-improve, and natulungan ko ng mga coaches and especially 'yung teammates ko."
