THE Senate Committee on Games, Amusement and Sports is now closely monitoring developments surrounding the death of Jose Rizal University high school player Carl Jinwell 'CJ' Servillon.

Committee chairman Senator Sonny Angara told Spin.ph they are just waiting for the result of the autopsy before deciding if an inquiry will be necessary to address issues that led to the 17-year-old's death.

“We will wait for the (result of) the autopsy,” said Angara, who is already aware of the incident that has shocked the basketball community.

Servillon, a 6-foot-1 high school senior who was set to make his debut in the NCAA this season, collapsed during a preseason game against De La Salle Zobel on Friday morning.

He died on Sunday night after two days at the ICU.
