REINIER Quinga decided to play for College of St. Benilde in the NCAA following a brilliant junior stint with Adamson that saw him win an individual award in the UAAP last year.
Quinga, who was part of the UAAP Mythical Five last season along with MVP Thirdy Ravena and Hubert Cani, has been included in the Blazers lineup in this year’s Filoil Premier Cup pre-season tournament after making a commitment to the team.
Adamson has skipped the preseason tournament, with the Falcons' new coach, former PBA MVP Kenneth Duremdes, admitting he has yet to complete a team for the coming UAAP wars.
While playing for the Baby Falcons in Season 76, Quinga led the UAAP in blocks averaging 2.6 a game, and placed second overall in rebounds with 13.4 per outing including a season-high 26 against De La Salle-Zobel in the first round.
He was also the lone double-digit scorer for the Baby Falcons (1-13), averaging 15.4 points per game.
