Is Baser Amer out for the NCAA season? Red Lions coach Jarin keeps it a 'secret'

    Jul 21, 2015

SAN Beda drew fine games from its backup guards, but Lions coach Jamike Jarin noted that injured starting playmaker Baser Amer is difficult to replace and called him the ‘best point guard in college basketball.’

On when the Davaoeno would be fit to return to action is a huge question, and Jarin even mentioned something about losing the star guard for the season.

“The one million dollar question is when he will be back. Is he out of the season? The answer is secret,” said Jarin.

Ryusei Koga and Dan Sara stepped up in the game against Lyceum. But Jarin noted it will be much different without his main playmaker.

“It’s hard,” said Jarin. “You can never replace someone like Baser, arguably the best point guard in college.”

“You can never replace that. You have to punch in the holes we have right now,” added Jarin.

Koga had 12 points, four rebounds, three assists, and one steal, while Sara had 11 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and six steals.

Team manager Jude Roque said the San Beda point guard could miss up to six weeks.

“We have to really wait for the swelling to go down,” said Jarin.
