NATIONAL University coach Aris Dimaunahan has made it a point to his girls that they only have 24 hours to celebrate a win.
It's a rule which also applied after the Lady Bulldogs' stunning 61-57 overtime loss to La Salle last Nov. 23 that snapped their 108-game win streak.
See National U a win away from seventh straight title with rout of La Salle
"After 24 hours, we let it go. We focus on the next one. Yun ang naging mentality namin," he said. "We did not veer away from what we do best, and ang lagi namang hope namin is to prepare well for each and every game na darating sa harapan namin."
It has worked for NU, which is a win away from its dream seven-peat after a 93-61 rout of La Salle on Wednesday in Game One of the UAAP Season 85 women's basketball Finals.

Mikka Cacho, one of the team's veterans, credited that approach as one of the reasons why the Lady Bulldogs remain hungry despite being the defending champions.
"After noon, we got to stay focused and start na ulit kaming mag-training, back to zero na ulit kami," she said, keeping that mentality after posting 16 points, four rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block in this series opener.
"Focused kami sa game palagi. Kahit anong mangyari, bibigay namin lahat pag-tungtong namin sa court kasi binibigyan kami lahat ni coach Aris ng tiwala so dapat ibalik namin sa kanya."
Still, Dimaunahan admitted that it's a loss that still lingers for NU and a tough feeling the team never wants to feel again.
"We have to learn from yung one loss namin na we did not play 40 minutes of good basketball in that game. And we've learned our lesson," he said.
"The good thing is that after that loss, nakabangon kami right away in a short period of time. I have to give credit to all of our coaches for motivating the girls, the ladies coming off that loss nga. Among themselves, they picked themselves up and that's what I'm most proud of dahil ang pinaka-madali mong gawin noon is to scatter and be kanya-kanya na eh. But what happened was the other way: they stuck together, they talked it out, and they remained as a team, and it showed after that game that we are ready to play this game again."
Cacho also felt the same way as she seeks to get the opposite of that and celebrate a championship on Sunday.
"Yun ang isa sa mga pinakatahimik na dugout na narinig ko sa buong career ko dito sa NU," she said. "Pero mas naka-motivate sa akin yun kasi gusto ko yung susunod na last na laro ko dito sa NU, yun ang pinaka maingay na gusto ko rin marinig dito."
