ARELLANO has received a reprieve from the NCAA as Keith Agovida will be available in the Chiefs’ men’s basketball Final Four match against Jose Rizal University on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The athletic forward had faced suspension after getting ejected for picking up two unsportsmanlike fouls in the Chiefs’ playoff for top spot against San Beda last Friday.
But Arellano management committee representative Peter Cayco said ManCom has downgraded his second unsportsmanlike foul to a regular infraction.
“He can play on Wednesday,” Cayco told Spin.ph on Monday, referring to Agovida, the Chiefs’ third-leading scorer and second-leading rebounder.
It’s a welcome development for the twice-to-beat Chiefs, who are in their maiden semifinal appearance in the league and are facing a streaking Bombers side that’s on a three-game winning streak.
