ANDRE Paras is part of San Beda’s lineup in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup, according to the roster of teams in the preseason tournament obtained by Spin.ph.
Paras is already eligible to play for the Red Lions this year, having undergone a one-year residency with the school after spending an uneventful season with the University of the Philippines Maroons in 2013.
Prior to the Filoil Cup, Paras was already playing with the Red Lions in the Fr. Martin Cup. But the Filoil stint is a bigger indication that he will likely crack a formidable Red Lions lineup looking to score a sixth successive NCAA title.
Ola Adeogun, Baser Amer, and Art Dela Cruz lead the way for the Red Lions in the preseason tournament along with Ryusei Koga, Jeramer Cabanag, Amiel Cris Soberano, Jaypee Mendoza, Dan Sara, Ice Reyes, Jose Mari Presbitero, Pierre Tankoua, Radge Tongco, Michole Sorela, Javee Mocon, Alfred Sedillo, Lance Abude, and Francis Abuda.
The 6-foot-3 Paras, one of two playing sons of two-time PBA MVP Benjie Paras, made the move from Diliman to Legarda after playing only eight games with the Maroons in 2013.
He was also with the Red Lions in a training camp overseas last month.
Outside basketball, the 19-year-old Paras is also a showbiz personality like his father, being one of the talents of GMA.
While Andre is in the Philippines, his brother Kobe is making a splash in the United States playing high school ball for LA Cathedral in California. He has committed to play for UCLA in college.
