MAPUA’s Nigerian import Allwell Oraeme led the Most Valuable Player race in the NCAA Season 91 seniors basketball tournament after the first round of eliminations.
The Cardinals big man took the top spot with total statistical points (SPs) of 598 and a 66.44 players all-around value (PAV) of 66.44.
Statistics are the basis for the MVP. However, NCAA rules state that the team of the leader in PAV must reach the Final Four in order to become the MVP.
The Cardinals are in sixth place with a 4-5 win-loss record.
Pro-bound Art de la Cruz of San Beda is in second place with 574 SPs and 63.78 PAV, followed by Scottie Thompson of Perpetual Help with 549 SPs (61 PAV) and Nigerian teammate Bright Akhuetie with 537 SPs (59.67 PAV).
Rey Nambatac of Letran is in fifth place with 459 SPs (51 PAV).
Jiovani Jalalon of Arellano (439 total SPs, 48.78 PAV), Mark Cruz of Letran (397 total SPs, 44.11 PAV), Bradwyn Guinto of San Sebastian (390 total SPs, 43.33 PAV), Ola Adeogun of San Beda (345 total SPs,
43.13 PAV), and Kevin Racal of Letran (382 total SPs, 42.44 PAV) round out the top 10.
