ARE Mark Nonoy and Deo Cuajao the next players to depart University of Santo Tomas?
A handful of players have left the UST Tigers, and insiders believe several more are eyeing the exit.
Sources closely monitoring the situation said Adamson is indeed interested in acquiring the services of both guards. A photo obtained by Spin.ph shows Phenom Sports Management head Jax Chua with Adamson coach Franz Pumaren.
Nonoy and Cuajao are both signed under Phenom.
If true, these are the latest faces to depart Espana following the controversial burst of the Bicol bubble which saw coach Aldin Ayo tender his resignation on Friday.
The 5-foot-8 Nonoy was named UAAP Season 82 Rookie of the Year after posting 11.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists.
The La Carlota, Negros Occidental speedster from Hua Siong College of Iloilo started six games for the Growling Tigers.
Meanwhile, the 6-foot-1 Cuajao saw limited minutes in his rookie year in UST, collecting 13 points and 12 rebounds in the 12 games he saw last season.
The Holy Child College of Davao standout did showcase his worth in the three games he played for the Growling Tigers in the 2020 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup before its cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Both 19, they still have three more playing years if they decide to transfer to another UAAP school.
Spin.ph sought Pumaren for comments about the matter but he has yet to respond as of posting time.
UST has already lost five players, namely CJ Cansino, Rhenz Abando, Brent Paraiso, Ira Bataller and Jun Asuncion.
