RENZO Subido has officially been included in the University of Santo Tomas Tigers, joining holdovers from last season’s runner-up squad led by Kevin Ferrer, Aljon Mariano, and Karim Abdul in Season 77 of the UAAP.
Subido, a point guard out of De La Salle-Zobel high school, will be joining four other rookies in the Growling Tigers’ squad coached by first-year mentor Segundo ‘Bong’ Dela Cruz.
Initially, Dela Cruz said he was not inclined to include Subido in his lineup as his decision to move from DLSU to Esplana came after weeks of dilly-dallying.
But UST apparently had a change of heart, including the natural point guard in its 16-man roster.
Subido is covered by the two-year residency on high school graduates transferring to another UAAP school but is eligible to play this season after getting a release given by La Salle.
Other rookies in the squad include Raymart Sablan of University of the Philippines, Alfren Gayosa of San Sebastian, Levi Dela Cruz of National University, and Regie Boy Basibas of Bal-ason National High School.
Ferrer and Mariano are two of the holdovers of the squad which also include Abdul, Ed Daquioag, Kim Lo, Paolo Pe, and Louie Vigil, who returns to UST after a one-year hiatus.
Others who made the lineup are Jeepy Faundo, Kent Lao, and Jan Macasaet.
