FORTHSKY Padrigao, Rey Remogat, and Kean Baclaan will not be affected by the new UAAP eligibility rules, as those will only apply to players who have enrolled in their new schools starting academic year (A.Y.) 2024-2025.
UAAP executive director Atty. Rebo Saguisag clarified that the league already approved the decision as early as February, although it chose to not apply it retroactively and decided to only implement the new rule starting in the current A.Y.
“It’s the academics that we’re looking at,” he told SPIN.ph, with UAAP-to-UAAP transferees now set to lose two years from their eligibility starting Season 87.

This means transferees who enrolled in the past semesters which still fall under A.Y. 2023-2024 will not be part of the changes.

Padrigao is still eligible to play for two seasons for the Growling Tigers, same with Baclaan with the Green Archers and Remogat with the Fighting Maroons.
Also among those who escaped the new eligibility rule include Gani Stevens, who will play for UP starting this tournament after suiting up for a year in UE, and Luis Pablo, who went from rookie Fighting Maroon to La Salle Green Archer.
Amos among those hit
On the other hand, La Salle’s Mason Amos, Adamson’s Kobe Demisana and Renzo Competente, and FEU’s Mur Alao will be among the first to feel the heat from these changes, as they've only been in their respective schools since the first semester of A.Y. 2024-2025.
Amos, who moved from Ateneo after his rookie year, will have two playing years left once he starts repping the Green Archers come Season 88.
It’s the same case for Demisana, who was part of Ateneo’s Team B; Competente, who played last year with the Tamaraws; and Alao, who was with La Salle's Team B, as all three will have two years left of eligibility.

Jacob Cortez, who came from San Beda before moving to La Salle, will be unaffected by the decision as it only applies to UAAP-to-UAAP moves and not inter-league transfers.
