WENDELL Comboy missed Far Eastern University's match against Far Eastern University on Sunday after sustaining a concussion in practice.
The sophomore guard, who was fresh from a career game against Ateneo last Wednesday, said his head hit the floor of the FEU practice facility after a bad fall during practice.
Doctors later refused to clear him for Sunday’s game.
“Nasahod ako. Mahampas ‘yung ulo ko sa tabla. Hindi ako na-clear ng doktor. Concussion daw,” said Comboy.
Comboy was coming off an impressive effort where he had 20 points and six rebounds for the Tamaraws in a loss to Ateneo on Wednesday.
The former FEU-Diliman standout will undergo another check-up on Monday to determine the extent of his injury and determine when he can return to practice.
Despite sitting on the bench, Comboy was happy with his teammates’ performance as the Tamaraws were able to secure a 67-59 win over University of the East.
“Masaya naman kami dahil nag-deliver mga teammates ko. Nakita ‘yung effort nila. Kahit sa bench, tuwang-tuwa kami,” said Comboy.
