WHAT'S with University of Santo Tomas that Valandre Chauca seems to always step up his game?
Truth be told, the Fil-Peruvian guard said that there's really nothing special.
"I don’t know. I’m not really sure," he said with a chuckle after bringing Adamson to a 78-71 come-from-behind win over University of Santo Tomas on Wednesday.
Chauca unleashed 11 of his 18 points in a blazing fourth quarter rally as the Soaring Falcons battled back from a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit and crawled their way back from a 71-62 disadvantage in the final 3:07.

But this is not the first time the 24-year-old played the role of a thorn in the side of the Growling Tigers.
Back in May during the 2019 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup, Chauca poured 31 points on a sizzling 5-of-9 shooting from deep as he lifted Family Mart-Enderun to a huge 81-74 win over Ironcon-UST, effectively eliminating the Growling Tigers from playoff contention.
Yet as reminiscent as his performances were, the 5-foot-11 sniper said that he's just approaching every game the same way.
"Whoever is in front of me, I just go out and try to kill my opponent whoever it is," said Chauca, who is making the most of his lone UAAP season for Adamson.
"The goal is pretty simple: go to the Finals and win the Finals. Personally, I wanna win the MVP. I wanna be very efficient, keep my turnovers down, and shoot it efficiently. I just wanna keep winning."
