UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas is set to conduct an internal probe on the apparent Sorsogon sojourn of the Growling Tigers following the controversial ouster of team captain CJ Cansino.
Games and Amusements Board (GAB) chair Baham Mitra shared to Spin.ph that the España-based campus will be investigating the turn of events which led to the unveiling of the supposed Bicol bubble.
"This afternoon, the JAO Group of DOH, GAB, and PSC met with UAAP officials and decided to allow UAAP to discuss with UST about the alleged unauthorized practice in Sorsogon," he said.

Present for the meeting were UAAP executive director Rebo Saguisag and UAAP president Nonong Calanog of La Salle, as well as PSC national training director Marc Velasco and DOH representative Rodley Carza.
Meanwhile, UST "respectfully declined" from attending the Saturday afternoon meeting.
"Atty. Rebo said that UST is conducting its own internal probe and promised to report to UAAP soonest. The group agreed to remind everyone that the outmost importance is the safety of the players and students," continued Mitra.
"We also agreed to follow the procedure of which the GAB investigated the Blackwater team and allowed the PBA to conduct its own probe and impose sanctions before we finally step in."
In a statement, PSC also said that it "recognizes the UAAP as the mother organization of the concerned team and trusts that proper actions shall be done on this matter."
"PSC also reiterated that provisions of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) guidelines on physical activities and sport, as well as the Joint Administrative Order issued by the PSC, GAB, and the DOH on the resumption of sport must always be observed. The PSC, at this point expresses its concern for the safety of the athletes. Above all considerations at this time, the safety of the athletes must always be paramount."
The group will meet anew on Wednesday.
