FORTHSKY Padrigao wouldn’t deny that he’s already thinking of what the future holds, even as he gears up for his last go-round for University of Santo Tomas.
After all, that has been the trend over the past few years – with some of the top collegiate stars taking their talents overseas.
“I want to try international-stage basketball, may it be Korea, Japan, or whatever,” said the 6-foot guard who admitted that at this point, he’s just open to anything that comes his way.
“I really just want to try kasi gusto kong masabi sa sarili ko kung hanggang saan ako kayang i-take ng basketball skills ko at kung hanggang saan yung potential ko. Gusto kong makita sa sarili ko as basketball player kung hanggang saan yung kaya ko.”

Going overseas isn’t that farfetched for the Zamboangueno court general, with him certainly establishing himself as one of the premier point guards in the amateur ranks today.

Padrigao signing with Kiefer Ravena’s Bridge Sports Global also fanned talks of what his next chapter holds, with several observers already pegging him for an international stint

Yet for now, it’s all chatter, as Padrigao, 23, understands that he still has to perform at his best, not just for his own career, but also for the Growling Tigers this UAAP Season 88.
“I have plans, but I have to take the right steps. It’s not easy,” he said, maintaining his focus on the job that awaits the Espana crew, especially with the black-and-gold having legitimate championship aspirations.
“For me, whatever comes, I’ll grab it. Sa akin naman, I’m just here to help my team, do my job, and finish my last playing year on a strong note.”
