UST recruit Renzo Subido lands spot in Mythical Five of Nike All-Asia Basketball Camp

RENZO Subido was named to the Mythical Five in the Nike All-Asia Basketball Camp in Guangzhou, China.

The incoming University of Santo Tomas guard was chosen from an elite list of the Top 20 Asian players from the camp attended by 61 others all over the continent.

Joining Subido in the list of the Top 20 Asian players was compatriot Kib Montalbo of De La Salle.

Subido and Montalbo were the only Filipinos who attended the youth camp, where New Orleans Pelicans center Anthony Davis conducted drills for the players.

Subido averaged a season-high 20.4 points in last year’s UAAP juniors basketball tournament while playing for De La Salle-Zobel.

He transferred to UST in, college although Tigers head coach Bong Dela Cruz said he will not be part of the school’s lineup for the UAAP this season owing to his late arrival.

Montalbo meanwhile, is in his second season with the Green Archers after playing in Bacolod in high school.
