CLARITY is hopefully just around the corner when University of Santo Tomas presents its findings on its men's varsity team's alleged Bicol bubble training before a government-created probe body on Tuesday afternoon.
The findings on the Tigers' alleged offseason training in Capuy, Sorsogon under the watch of coach Aldin Ayo has been submitted to UST Rector Fr. Richard Ang, OP and Institute of Physical Education and Athletics (IPEA) director Fr. Ermito de Sagon, OP.
University presidents composing the league's Board of Trustees have also seen the report last Friday, although it will be on UAAP president Nonong Calanog of La Salle and executive director Atty. Rebo Saguisag to lay the report out in the 4 p.m. meeting.
Expected to attend from the group formed by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for Emerging Infectious Diseases are Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) national training director Marc Velasco, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) commissioner Prospero de Vera, Department of Health (DOH) representative Rodley Carza, and Games and Amusements Board (GAB) chair Baham Mitra.
However, insiders do not expect any actions just yet.
The UAAP, according to sources, is waiting for UST to take 'proactive actions' by handing out the sanctions to those proven responsible for the Sorsogon sojourn before taking a stand in the meeting with the IATF panel.
Fr. Jannel Abogado, OP has since resigned from his post as the IPEA director last week, while there has already been an exodus in the Growling Tigers camp, with Rhenz Abando, Brent Paraiso, and Ira Bataller dropping out of the campus over the weekend.
