UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas hero Louie Vigil credited the Tigers' unselfish team ball for his near triple-double performance in the semifinal game against National University in UAAP Season 78.

Vigil pumped in a career-high 19 points to go with 11 rebounds, seven assists, and two steals as the Growling Tigers disposed of National University, 64-55, to clinch a return to the finals.

The fourth-year forward said the Tigers' ball movement was so good he was able to get open shots and at the same time was able to find open teammates.

“Good ball movement kami. Hinahanap namin ‘yung mga shooters at mismatches. Nandoon si Kevin (Ferrer) at Ed (Daquioag). Kung sino ‘yung pinaka-open, ‘yun ‘yung pinapasahan namin,” said Vigil, who entered the game averaging 9.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.

One of Vigil’s steals was a crucial one as he went on to convert a layup that knocked the wind off the sails of the rallying Bulldogs, putting UST ahead, 52-41.

“Nagkaroon sila (Bulldogs) ng eye-contact, inanticipate ko," Vigil said of his steal. "Ayaw ni coach ng ganun pero ‘yung term na gamble, 50-50. Nakuha ko.”
