UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas coach Boy Sablan said keeping Oliver de Guzman in the dying moments was not a gamble and that all along he had a plan for the rookie.
De Guzman scored 11 points in 11 minutes, including the go-ahead three and a step back jumper over UP's Andrew Harris.
De Guzman said he was just thankful for the opportunity to play.
"Thank you kay Lord tsaka kay coach, binigyan niya kami ng opportunity maglaro," the rookie guard said.
