UNIVERSITY of the Philippines swiftly recovered from its first loss with a lopsided 77-51 decision of Adamson in UAAP Season 86 men's basketball at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday.

On top of Malick Diouf’s 12-point outing, Janjan Felicilda delivered a balanced display of seven points, seven assists, five rebounds, and two steals.
The Maroons rise to 7-1 (win-loss) as the Falcons now lose three in a row at 3-5.
On the night of a horror comeback for Jerom Lastimosa, whose return was spoiled by an apparent knee injury, the Falcons were haplessly drubbed by the league leaders.
“This is a good bounce back win for us. Coming off a loss in the last game (to Ateneo), what Coach Gold (Monteverde) emphasized to the team is to keep calm and to always keep pounding,” says UP deputy coach Christian Luanzon.
“We’ll just to continue to build on what we need to improve as a team, but we were satisfied with the bounce back performance today,” he added.
Apart from Lastimosa’s worrisome injury, UP ace JD Cagulangan also suffered a non-contact injury in the second quarter but was able to make his way back to the bench.
Just three days since their opening loss to Ateneo, the Maroons will enter a sought-after rematch with the defending champions on Sunday, 4 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
