UNIVERSITY of the Philippines program director Bo Perasol said the Maroons are ready to play Game Three of the UAAP Season 85 finals without Zavier Lucero but won't entirely rule out the injured high-flyer for the decider against Ateneo.
Speaking a day after Lucero was carried out of the court for a non-contact injury to his left knee on Wednesday, Perasol said the defending champions are preparing for the title decider under the premise that their starting forward won't be there.

However, the former UP and Ateneo coach said the Maroons' medical staff is doing everything to make Lucero available for Monday's winner-take-all match at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
There is still no word yet from the medical staff on the severity of the injury, he added.
"I have yet to get an update from our medical staff, but everyone naman saw the play that led to the injury. We all know it looked bad," said Perasol. "So the team now is preparing like there won't be a Lucero in Game Three."
However, Perasol said he was assured that the team's medical staff will do everything to help Lucero be fit enough to play in the title decider.
However, the final decision will rest on Lucero.
"In the end, it will be his call," Perasol said.
