"I am beyond blessed to announce that I am committing to the University of the Philippines. To everyone who has helped me continue my journey, maraming maraming Salamat po! You write your own story. #upfight," Yniguez said in an Instagram post on Tuesday morning.

UP head coach Goldwin Monteverde added: "We're looking forward to the contributions na mabibigay ni Miguel sa'tin. Matagal na nating nakitang he can be a big help for our team so it's good na tuloy na tuloy na nga.
Yniguez was given an early taste of Fighting Maroons basketball when he suited up for the Season 84 champion side in the 2023 Pinoyliga Collegiate Cup.
His commitment to UP, however, was formally secured during the UP coaching staff's United States trip led by Monteverde and UP Office for Athletics and Sports Development Director Bo Perasol.
