UNIVERSITY of the Philippines forward Zavier Lucero is set to undergo an MRI scan as soon as possible after suffering a non-contact left knee injury during Game Two of the UAAP Season 85 Finals on Wednesday.
"Right now wala pa kasi we're scheduling yung assessment sa kanya. Yung medical team kasi namin, ipapa-check na. So, even us, at this point, we're waiting," UP assistant coach Christian Luanzon said after their 66-56 loss to Ateneo.

The high-leaping forward crumpled to the floor while driving to the basket at the 8:31 mark of the fourth quarter. He was carried back to the bench by teammate Henry Galinato and two medical staff from the Fighting Maroons.
During the broadcast, UP's courtside reporter quoted Lucero having heard a "crack" during the fall. He finished with six points, 11 rebounds, two assists, a steal, and a block.
On the other hand, head coach Goldwin Monteverde is hopeful that his ward can be available for winner-take-all Game 3 on Monday.
"Hopefully, hindi naman siguro ganoong ka-grabe. We'll know siguro by [Thursday or Friday]," said Monteverde.
