UNIVERSITY of the East coach Boycie Zamar said on Saturday his star guard Roi Sumang has been recently riddled with injuries.
Sumang had 21 points in UE’s 85-83 victory over La Salle but hit the deck several times.
“He is a wounded Warrior,” said Zamar.
Asked what the injuries are, Zamar only said: “Sa likod, sa kamay, sa gilid.”
Sumang declined to grant interviews due to cramps in his whole body, adding that he started to feel it as early as the third quarter.
Zamar said that Sumang has been hurting due to the continuous pounding he has been receiving in games.
“I told him you have to be smarter, you have to kick the ball out sometimes. I’ve been very vocal na kung gusto mong umangat, you have to ease out the pressure and give the ball,” said Zamar.
