WELLO Lingolingo has been handed a three-game suspension by the UAAP for his actions during University of the East's 111-100 overtime loss to La Salle on Wednesday.
The UAAP dropped the hammer on Thursday, a day after the Red Warriors team captain was called for an unsportsmanlike foul for diving on a loose ball that led to La Salle guard Kean Baclaan's MCL tear.

"While the referees had already called for a jump ball, Lingolingo dove for possession and landed on the right knee of La Salle’s Kean Baclaan," the league said in a statement, which led to Lingolingo picking up the unsportsmanlike foul (criteria 2).
"Upon review, it was determined that the foul involved excessive and forceful contact made by a player in an attempt to play the ball or an opponent."
He will serve the first of his suspensions on Sunday when UE finishes its first round assignments against Far Eastern University, though the Recto side can still appeal the penalty.
