UNIVERSITY of the East looks to arrest a two-game slide when it takes on unbeaten leader La Salle Wednesday in the UAAP Season 79 basketball tournament at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
The Warriors hold a 2-8 win-loss slate, while the Archers have won 11 straight games.
The game starts at 2 p.m.
It will be a huge task for a skidding UE team coming off an eight-point loss to Adamson, as the Warriors battle the Archers, who just dealt University of Sto. Tomas a 43-point beating.
UE can get some inspiration from a gritty first-round performance against La Salle, but sure needs to do much better after that match still ended in a huge defeat.
Meanwhile, National University looks to break a five-game skid when the Bulldogs face the University of the Philippines Maroons at 4 p.m.
The Bulldogs were beaten by Ateneo on Sunday, their seventh loss in 11 games.
The Bulldogs are a game ahead of the Maroons, who are tied for seventh with UST at 3-8.
A win by the Maroons will be a big boost to their Final Four hopes as they look to close in to Adamson, in fourth place with a 5-5 win-loss slate.
