Battad said the U-turn is to 'aid in the seamless continuation of (UE's) hosting year, the league said in a statement released to media outlets.
"This has been a season marked by grace and goodwill, and it is my sincere belief that in the spirit of sportsmanship, we can achieve great things together,” Dr. Battad said.
"After much reflecting, reason prevailed over emotion. I recognize the weight of my responsibilities and the impact of my decisions on the UAAP and its member institutions. With a clear focus on our shared goals, I am confident that we can overcome challenges and continue to elevate the standards of amateur sports in the country.”
Battad's resignation was announced in the school's social media pages on November 15.
Although no reason was given, UAAP officials admitted it had something to do with the one-game ban on UE slotman Precious Momowei fo a second unsportsmanlike foul.
