THE Sheriff means business.

Determined to be ready in case the opponent again resorts to a 'Hack A Sheriff' ploy, University of Santo Tomas guard Jon Sheriff spent some time polishing his stroke from the free-throw line ahead of Game One of the UAAP Finals.

Sheriff was one of the early birds who warmed up on the court on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena three hours before game time, and mostly shot free throws by himself.

Sheriff is hoping to atone for his 4-of-12 clip from the line in the Final Four match against National University that saw him being fouled a number of times late in the game in a last-ditch effort by the Bulldogs to come back.

Now if the Sheriff continues to misfire from the stripe, at least we know it's not because of lack of practice.
