A BATTLE between storied rivals and a possible finals preview are slated on September 1, the highlight playdate of the second round of the UAAP men’s basketball tournament.
Archrivals La Salle and Ateneo face each other in the second game of a doubleheader at the Smart Araneta Coliseum at 4 p.m. with the Green Archers looking to sweep their season series with the Blue Eagles.
The first game at noon is as equally interesting with top-ranked and undefeated Far Eastern University taking on University of Santo Tomas, which despite holding a three-way tie with a 4-3 win-loss slate holds second place due to a better quotient against National University and University of the East.
Tickets for both games will be sold separately.
In other marquee match-ups, FEU takes on NU at the start of the second round on August 14 at The Big Dome at 4 p.m. before facing UE on August 25 at the same venue.
De La Salle takes on Adamson to usher the second round on August 14 at 2 p.m. in their first match-up since a controversial call marred the late goings of the game that led to a six-game suspension of a referee.
UST faces UE on August 15 before taking on NU on August 24 at the Big Dome in a rematch after Jeric Teng suffered a shoulder injury following a collision with Jeff Javillonar.
The Teng brothers meet on the final game of the second round with UST facing La Salle on September 14 at 4 p.m.
