ATENEO and La Salle renew their rivalry in the first Sunday offing of the UAAP Season 82.
The fierce rivals will cap off a busy opening week for the league, with Blue Eagles, who are shooting for a three-peat, and the rejigged Green Archers facing off at 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
University of the East and Far Eastern University will serve as that day's curtain raiser at 12 p.m.
Triple-headers will be the norm for Wednesday games in both the men's and women's basketball tournaments this season, owing to the UAAP condensing its schedule for the upcoming 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
The tournament begins on Wednesday, September 4, with UST taking on UE in the season's first game at 10:30 a.m., followed by the clash between FEU and last year's runner-up UP at 12:30 p.m., before Ateneo faces off against Adamson at 4 p.m., all at the Big Dome.
National University makes its debut on Saturday, September 7, against Adamson at 2 p.m., before UP and upstart UST collide at 4 p.m.
Ynares Center in Antipolo will also host two gamedays, with UE versus UP and La Salle against Adamson slated on Saturday, September 21, before the Ateneo-NU and UST-FEU games on Sunday, September 22.
Ateneo and UP engage in a Finals rematch in the last game of the first round on Sunday, September 29, at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
It was a welcome development for the league after it earlier studied the possibility of holding quadruple-headers in its weekday playdates.
