NATIONAL University resumes its bid in the UAAP Season 78 juniors basketball tournament against Ateneo on Saturday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The Bullpups look to continue their unbeaten ways against the Blue Eaglets in their 11 a.m. encounter in a rematch of last season’s finalists.
Led by John Lloyd Clemente and Justine Baltazar, NU ended the first round unbeaten in seven outings before the league took a respite for the holidays.
Clemente is third in the league in scoring with 17.3 points, while Baltazar is averaging a double-double of 12.3 points and a league-best 12 rebounds per outing.
In other matches, second-running De La Salle-Zobel faces Far Eastern University-Diliman at 3 p.m. The Junior Archers have a 5-2 win-loss card, tied with the Blue Eaglets, while the Baby Tamaraws are in fourth with a 4-3 card.
Winless University of the East takes on University of Santo Tomas at 9 a.m. to open the quadruple header while Adamson battles University of the Philippines Integrated School at 1 p.m.
The second round will run until February 6 with all the games to be played at the Filoil Flying V Arena.
