THE UAAP has already set guidelines for its high school eligibility once the K-12 system is implemented by the Department of Education.

Secretary-treasurer Rod Roque said the new guidelines for high school athletes will be implemented in 2016 when the K-12 educational system will be in full effect.

Under the K-12 system, junior high school will be from Grade Seven to 10, while senior high school will be from Grade 11 to 12.

But for the UAAP rules, athletes will be eligible to play in the juniors division when they enroll in Grade 8 and will be allowed to play for a maximum of five years instead of four, but only up to 19 years old only.

“We have addressed the situation already,” said Roque.
