    Mike Nieto has double-double as Ateneo routs UST to secure twice-to-beat advantage in UAAP Juniors Final Four

    ATENEO continued its unbeaten run and clinched a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four with an 84-66 rout of University of Santo Tomas on Wednesday in the UAAP Season 77 juniors basketball tournament at the Blue Eagle Gym.

    Mike Nieto had 23 points and 16 rebounds as the Blue Eaglets scored their 11th win in as many outings.

    Ateneo is now three wins away from a sweep of the elimination round, which will give them an outright berth in the finals.

    Second-running National University improved to 8-4 with an 81-55 win over University of the Philippines Integrated School.

    Adamson limited Far Eastern University to only two points in the first quarter and went on to score a 63-39 win.

    Gerald Fernandez had 18 points for the Baby Falcons as they forced the Baby Tamaraws to only seven points in the first half to score the win and match FEU-Diliman’s win-loss record at 6-5.

    No player scored in double figures for the Baby Tamaraws, who shot 14 of 63 from the field.

    FEU-Diliman slid to a share of fourth place after De La Salle-Zobel beat winless University of the East, 77-66.

    Noah Webb scored 18 points as the Junior Archers upped their mark to 7-4.
