    Blue Eaglets whip Baby Tams to gain Final Four; Bullpups end three-game slide with win over DLS-Z

    Ateneo whips FEU to secure Final Four berth in UAAP juniors basketball

    ATENEO clinched a Final Four berth with a 78-52 win over Far Eastern University-Diliman on Wednesday in the UAAP Season 77 juniors basketball tournament at the Blue Eagle Gym.

    Matt Nieto scored 20 points as the Blue Eaglets stayed unbeaten in 10 games, sealing their place in the round of four.

    The Blue Eaglets can enter the finals outright if they sweep their four remaining elimination-round games.

    Meanwhile, National University broke its three-game losing streak with a 50-37 win over De La Salle-Zobel.

    John Clemente scored 11 points while Mark Dyke grabbed 17 rebounds as the Bullpups finally got back on track. Before the three-game slide, the Bullpups had won 22 straight games.

    NU is in second place with a 7-3 win-loss record, while FEU-Diliman and De La Salle-Zobel shared third spot at 6-4.

    In other games, Gerald Fernandez had 14 points while Jhon Egan and Frederick Tungcab added 12 markers as Adamson defeated University of the East, 78-42, for its fifth win in 10 outings.

    University of Santo Tomas beat University of the Philippines Integrated School, 61-55, to also improve to a 5-5 slate.

    Team standings: Ateneo 10-0, NU 7-3, FEU 6-4, De La Salle-Zobel 6-4, Adamson 5-5, UST 5-5, UP 1-9, UE 0-10.
