CHARLES Mammie of University of the East and Jason Perkins of La Salle are expected to be given the green light to play this season in the UAAP following the league’s eligibility meeting on Thursday.
UAAP secretary treasurer Malou Isip said there were no questions thrown with regards to the eligibility of any of the foreign players in team rosters this season.
“No questions, no deliberations,” Isip said. “For the foreigners, it was only a matter of submitting originals of their documents as aliens, which they are tasked to submit.”
Isip said that the clearance will be formalized in Monday’s regular board meeting.
With the clearance, Mammie and Perkins are expected to play this year despite talk that some teams were planning to scrutinize their eligibility to suit up this season.
Sources said some teams claim Perkins, a Fil-American, has yet to complete his residency requirement with La Salle while there are rumors that Mammie was the subject of a complaint from a former school.
