THOMAS Torres and Luigi De La Paz are expected to suit up for De La Salle in its marquee match-up on Sunday against Far Eastern University in the UAAP after sitting out the match against Adamson.

Torres and De La Paz suffered from flu-like symptoms which forced them to miss the Green Archers’ first game to start the second round of the eliminations. Despite their absence, La Salle edged out Adamson in overtime, 70-69.

“They’ll be ready on Sunday,” said La Salle coach Juno Sauler. “They haven’t been in practice for two days but they’ll be ready.”

Torres averaged 7.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and a team-best 3.9 assists in the first round of the eliminations, while De La Paz hit at a 6.0-point clip per game.

In the absence of Torres, LA Revilla and even third-string rookie Kib Montalbo picked up the cudgels in La Salle’s point guard position, combining for eight points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Montalbo, the rookie from Bacolod City, also suited up for 20 minutes, the most he had so far this season.

“Kib can play. The only problem is in the rotation, we have Thomas and LA. But he is as good as LA and Thomas,” said Sauler.
