TROY Mallillin has transferred to Ateneo after playing briefly for La Salle in the preseason.
The NCAA juniors MVP of Season 92 was spotted with the Blue Eagles team ahead of their match against La Salle in the Filoil preseason tournament on Sunday. Mallillin declined to be interviewed but confirmed that he is now with Ateneo.
Mallillin also added he will not be playing for Ateneo against La Salle on Sunday.
Mallillin, who averaged 19.9 points and 9.3 rebounds in his MVP campaign last year for La Salle Greenhills, originally committed to the Green Archers and in fact played preseason games for the reigning UAAP champions.
He, however, left the team last month, with La Salle coach Aldin Ayo saying Mallillin is most likely headed to University of Santo Tomas.
It turned out he is going to the other side of college basketball's biggest rivalry.
