IS La Salle ready to push the panic button after this third straight loss?

If coach Topex Robinson's to be asked, the answer is no.

Though he admitted that things may not be as good now for the Green Archers, rolling over to die will never be in his vocabulary.

"There's no way for us but to keep on persevering and keep on fighting. We could have all the reasons to just die, but that’s the least of our priorities right now," he said after La Salle's stunning 82-78 defeat to National U on Sunday.

Not only was that defeat the second consecutive for the Green Archers and third in four games, it also placed their standing at 2-3, going under .500 for the first time since Robinson took the helm in Taft.

But he argued that it's all part of the territory even for a DLSU team which was projected to be at the top of the food chain this UAAP Season 88.

"That’s just the situation now we’re with the team. Yes, we’re gonna be down but with so many games to come, you could never cut us out of this scenario. As much as we want to cry, there is nothing that’s gonna change the outcome of this game," he said.

In his familiar Robinson tone, the soft-spoken coach took responsibility and opted to look at the silver linings of these recent struggles.

"As long as we have life, we have chance," he said.

"It’s just gonna make us better. We’ll try to silence the outside noise because yan ang kapalit ng nire-represent namin. When you go through these struggles, you’re gonna hear it and it’s my responsibility and I’ll always protect my players. So we just have to keep on quieting the outside noise and play better."

Robinson also framed this as a challenge for La Salle, elaborating that despite being five games in, there's still nine more games where it can rectify these errors starting on Wednesday against University of the East.

"The nice thing about making these mistakes early is that we still have a chance to get better. We have a lot of opportunities to bounce back, but what’s important is we stick together as a team," he said.
