UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas is heading to the upcoming UAAP season with heightened expectations, but two of last year's cogs won't be with the Growling Tigers in this campaign.
Makoy Marcos and Toby Agustin have left Espana and have returned to their NCAA roots, the former to St. Benilde and the latter to Mapua. Both are serving their redshirt year as they look to suit up in the NCAA Season 96 next year.
UST coach Aldin Ayo bared the news on Tuesday.
Marcos averaged 3.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 12.8 minutes in his rookie year as the former La Salle Greenhills Greenie has established himself as a hardworking winger for the Growling Tigers.

Agustin, meanwhile, played sparingly in his first year, norming only 2.4 points and 2.4 rebounds in 9.0 minutes as the point guard out of JRU High School played behind guards CJ Cansino and Renzo Subido.
The two followed the footsteps of banger Germy Mahinay, who has left UST after just a year to transfer to National University.
