HIGH school standout Isaiah Dandan is taking the same path as Kevin Ferrer did years ago, opting to stay with the University of Santo Tomas Tigers in the UAAP after a stellar career with the Tiger Cubs.

UST coach Segundo ‘Bong’ Dela Cruz has confirmed that Dandan will be emulating Ferrer, who as a Tiger Cub won the juniors Rookie of the Year and MVP honors in 2009 and 2010 respectively before electing to stay with the Growling Tigers for college.

Dandan, a gangly 6-2 shooting guard and small forward, finished sixth in the league in scoring with his 14.7-point average in Season 76. He hit a high of 30 points in a loss to Ateneo last August 3, the second-best individual output last season.

Recently, Dandan was chosen to play with the best high school players in the land during the Rising Stars Classic organized by basketball magazine Slam Philippines.
