THIRDY Ravena has acknowledged that Far Eastern University’s solid play has stunned Ateneo, but he is determined to get the Blue Eagles back in full flight.
“They played amazing but we can’t let that happen in the second game cause it’s do-or-die for both of us,” said Ravena after Ateneo’s second straight loss following an unbeaten run of 13 games.
“FEU killed us so we have to focus on the next game,” he said.
Ravena had 17 points and six rebounds while the Nieto brothers in Matt and Mike gave a good account of themselves but as a whole, the Eagles shot just 36 percent from the field.
Although they made 10 three-pointers, they missed 22 attempts from beyond the arc – uncharacteristic for the usually fluid Ateneo offense. But Ravena is confident they will be able to work things out when shots don’t fall.
“We have to prepare for that and we know na bilog ang bola, hindi lahat papasok, di ba?” Ravena added.
The third-year forward is confident the Eagles will rise again.
“Natalo lang kami. Pero ganun talaga eh, matatalo ka talaga, basta importante, pinaka-importante yung game sa Wednesday. Dun lang focus namin lahat. Alam ko FEU dun din ang focus. Halata naman naka-focus sila,” said Ravena.
