THIRDY Ravena had no hard feelings towards Dave Yu, who issued a hard foul on the Ateneo star during a win over National University in the second round of the UAAP Season 80 on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
In the second quarter of Ateneo's 85-72 win over NU, Ravena found himself on the receiving end of a clothesline tackle by Yu, who was called for an unsportsmanlike foul in the play.
Ravena, though, was quick to play it down, as he believed there was no malice in the play.
"Siguro, duty foul na 'yun," said Ravena. "Hindi naman niya siguro intensyon manakit. He is a good guy. Part siya ng game. Just had to take it like a man."
Ravena led the way for Ateneo with 15 points, eight rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks as the Blue Eagles won their ninth straight game this season.
Ateneo, however, had to earn the win as the Blue Eagles trailed at the half for the first time this season.
Ravena said the NU game is a good test for the squad going forward.
"First half, they did a really good job in terms of their energy and their execution on defense. Kami naman, medyo mabagal 'yung pag-respond namin sa depensa namin," said Ravena.
"Our game plan was to hold them down to a low scoring game and we just have to execute and be aware because coach Jamike, he is known for motivating the players. We really have to prepare for them," he added.
