TERRENCE Romeo was officially named the Most Valuable Player of the UAAP Season 76 men’s basketball tournament, winning by the slimmest of margins over Charles Mammie of University of the East in the statistical points race.

Spin.ph had reported last week that Romeo was set to win the MVP title, based on its own computation of the player stats. [For full story, see Flamboyant Romeo wins MVP award behind late-season explosion]

According to the official statistics report issued by Imperium Technology and Smart Bro, Romeo amassed 75.2857 statistical points (SPs) at the end of the tournament after averaging 22.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.6 steals.

Romeo edged out Mammie, who had 75 SPs after seeing action for 12 games with the Red Warriors with averages of 15.1 points and 19 rebounds.

Mammie, however, was disqualified from winning any award after being slapped with two separate one-game suspensions by UAAP commissioner Chito Loyzaga during the season.
